Akalla Barkarby

The entire extension of metro is being built underground, with station depths ranging from 30 to 100 meters. Major construction work began in 2020 and is expected to take ten years to complete.
In the northwest, the Blue Line is being extended with two new stations. From Akalla, the subway will continue underground through Barkarbystaden to Barkarby in Järfälla, forming a key regional hub where passengers can transfer between the subway, buses, and commuter trains.
